And demonstrating impressive growth and market leadership, the brand has garnered numerous awards and accolades such as "Most Trusted CBD Brand" award from Consumer Reports in 2023.
Context
Traditional monolithic web architectures often translate into significant limitations in content control and agility for developing custom functionality. For REcreate, examples of that customization were specific API integrations and complex product variation implementation. Overall, having a streamlined workflow for content management and efficient development cycles is key for them to adapt to market changes and deliver an optimal customer experience, ultimately impacting growth potential. A headless infrastructure offers a powerful solution to these challenges, and REcreate already embraced the decoupling of the front-end presentation layer from the backend content management, needing us to build on top of such a base. Therefore, with a special need to keep flawless continuity on all operations while doing so.
Into the project
Shopify is the eCommerce platform of choice integrated to the headless CMS Prismic, allowing for enhanced control and agility on product content management and complex SKU functionality. Design flexibility is greatly expanded as well with this combination, as well as scalability is ensured for handling growing traffic and evolving business needs. So we developed on top of such a combination, and we continued to leverage the Amazon Web Services (AWS) foundation and Nuxt.js Server Side Rendering (SSR) implementation for seamlessly building without disrupting existing operations.
Project highlight: Integrating Shopify with Prismic for content and development freedom
Prismic’s powerful content management capabilities were combined with Shopify’’ robust eCommerce engine. This is essential to allow pulling product data and displaying it across the site’s interface. This approach also streamlines the store administrative workflow, giving REcreate greater control over the online store in terms of design, development and content edition, as it is evidenced with their product-variations special requirement.
